Stephen Molle of rural Cooper recently donated two iron tires from a one-row field cultivator to the Thomas Jefferson Gardens.
These became a part of the newly designed Children’s Garden section. Jaden Finley of Farlan is pictured here with his great-grandfather Stephen as they planted some marigolds between the spokes of one of the wheels.
This is the fifth generation to touch these wheels.
The wheels were used by Stephen Molle’s father Fred as he cultivated corn. The cultivator was pulled by a team of horses.
All are invited to see the iron tires at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens at the corner of Chestnut St and E. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.
